Some Early tips

1. No more ROAS, focus on MER 🤯

Stop focusing on ROAS (Return on ad spend). It does not make sense anymore, the metric is meaningless. Start focusing on how efficiently you are spending your advertising budget VS your total revenue (MER= Total revenue / adspend).

2. Use on-platform optimisations with on-platform metrics 🛠

Stopped allocating budgets based on revenue metrics. In-platform metrics (Clickthrough rates, cost per click, Viewthrough rates,..) to optimise our campaigns are the way  to go.

3. Power to the creative… 🎑

The times of letting the algorithm do the heavy lifting are over. As platforms became less performant, creative became king(if it wasn’t already). UGC (user generated content) and TikTok-like creatives are what mainly works best now. But…

4. Test, test, test… ✍🏻

… No 2 ad accounts are the same. Increased testing output on all levels (Creative, audiences, platforms).

5. 1st party data is the holy grail of your marketing efforts 📧

By using tools like Klaviyo we now focus heavily on growing our clients’ first party assets (Email/SMS/Website metrics). By using the collected data in automatic email flows, email campaigns, customer segmentation exercises the data becomes very usefull.
